Ángeles Reiné is a scriptwriter and film director born in Cadiz, Spain. She graduated from the London Film School, run by renowned director Mike Leight. During her academic years, she worked as an assistant for several filmmakers such as Tony Pierce-Roberts and Julian Doyle. However, the advertising field would offer her the opportunity to start working as a director, after being hired by Tesauro Spain in 1995.
For more than fifteen years, she has worked as a TV commercial director. She has been awarded many times at several festivals such as Fiap, San Sebastian, Cannes, AD and New York, among many others.
Reiné began her career in the television industry in 2008, with the award-winning TV show ‘Dr. Mateo’ (Antena 3), which would be succeeded by ‘Un Golpe de Suerte’ (Telecinco).
In 2010, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to Los Angeles (US) and by starting some personal projects while combining them with film direction and scriptwriting. She wrote, produced and directed ‘Way of Love’ and ‘Ready to Talk’ – both of which received numerous awards.
Two of her screenplays, ‘Children of the Clouds’ and ‘Breathe’ were finalists for the the Sundance Institute Script Lab.
She would move back to Spain in 2014, when she would start a new television project entitled ‘Luna’, the plot for an animation film called ‘Los Árboles Parlantes’, as well as several film scripts such as ‘Viaje a Swan’, ‘Atrapada’, ‘No vamos a volver’ and the sitcom ‘Salir del Ropero’, which will begin shooting in January 2019.
